Vietcombank Retail Banking Director honoured at WFIS 2026 for digital transformation achievements

On May 20, 2026, within the framework of the World Financial Innovation Series (WFIS) 2026, Ms. Đoàn Hồng Nhung, Retail Banking Director and member of the Management Board of Vietcombank, was honoured with the “Retail Banker of the Year” award. The award recognises her outstanding contributions in leading the implementation of digital transformation strategies in retail banking, promoting new business models and enhancing customer experience, thereby reinforcing Vietcombank’s pioneering position in Vietnam’s banking sector in general and its retail banking operations in particular.

Under the Board of Directors’ strategy identifying retail banking as one of Vietcombank’s key pillars, and through solutions introduced by the Management Board, Vietcombank’s Retail Banking Division has made a strong mark in transitioning from a traditional retail banking model to a modern digital financial ecosystem centred on customers.

The bank has accelerated digitalisation across multiple areas, including redesigning customer journeys, developing comprehensive solutions based on big data and AI applications, and transforming digital channels into trusted companions that ensure security and convenience while delivering increasingly personalised experiences tailored to customers’ diverse needs.

During the 2023-2025 period, Vietcombank’s retail banking operations contributed around 50 per cent of the bank’s total net income. The number of customers regularly using digital channels reached nearly 20 million, with average annual growth of 25 per cent. Speaking at the award ceremony, Ms. Đoàn Hồng Nhung said: “This honour belongs to the entire Vietcombank Retail Banking team, whom I am proud to represent.
