Amalgamation of SMBC Nikko Securities (Hong Kong) and SMBC Capital Markets (Asia)
SMBC Nikko Securities Inc. announced that, following completion of the necessary governmental and regulatory processes, it amalgamated its Hong Kong subsidiaries, SMBC Nikko Securities (Hong Kong) Limited (hereinafter referred to as “SMBC Nikko Hong Kong”) and SMBC Capital Markets (Asia) Limited (hereinafter referred to as “CM Asia”). This amalgamation is intended for SMBC Nikko Securities to further strengthen and expand its financial services in Hong Kong.
As part of the amalgamation, the derivatives business of CM Asia has been transferred to the surviving entity, SMBC Nikko Hong Kong, and business operations will continue under the name of the said company.
Going forward, by enhancing its sales capabilities and operational framework to meet a variety of customer needs, SMBC Nikko Securities aims to provide higher value-added solutions with customers.
