Kasikornbank & Krung Thai Bank rank among world’s top 15 strongest banking brands
Thailand continues to demonstrate strong brand fundamentals at the top of its banking sector, with two brands ranked among the world’s 15 strongest banking brands, according to the Banking 500 2026 journal by Brand Finance, the world’s leading brand valuation consultancy. Despite moderation in brand values among several mid-tier banks, Thailand’s top-tier brands maintain notably high Brand Strength Index (BSI) scores, demonstrating resilience in global perception even as domestic credit conditions soften.
Kasikornbank (brand value up 5% to USD2.6 billion) is now the 5th strongest banking brand globally, rising 18 places from 23rd (in 2025), with a BSI score of 94.2/100 and a brand strength rating of AAA+. The bank’s stable financial performance, supported by income growth and strong capital adequacy, reflects prudent risk management amid slower domestic economic conditions.
Krung Thai Bank (brand value up 3% to USD2.4 billion) ranks as the 14th strongest banking brand globally, rising two positions from 2025 with a BSI score of 90.4/100 and an AAA+ brand strength rating. The bank’s well-established domestic franchise and stronger capital position support its overall resilience.

The Thai banking system has experienced consecutive quarters of subdued loan growth, reflecting a more cautious borrowing environment following elevated debt levels during the pandemic. Although the system remains stable, slower credit expansion has influenced brand value outcomes across parts of the sector amid broader economic uncertainty.
