From Xiamen to the World: CIFIT 2025 Highlights Financial Capital and Cross-Border Investment
As global investors seek stability amid rising uncertainty, the 25th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT), to be held in Xiamen from September 8–11, is emerging as a timely platform for dialogue, dealmaking, and diversification.
Hosted by China's Ministry of Commerce, CIFIT 2025 will spotlight financial capital investment — a shift signaling China's focus on more sophisticated, globally integrated capital flows. The event will also feature dedicated zones for AI and low-altitude economy, areas attracting growing investor interest.
“Investors are increasingly seeking diversified, uncorrelated returns — this fair aligns with those priorities,” said Yu Hao, Director of the Xiamen Convention and Exhibition Bureau.
Institutional Dialogue with Global Implications
A high-level forum co-organized with UNCTAD will focus on investment promotion and innovation, reinforcing CIFIT's multilateral positioning. This aligns with the event's broader theme: “Further Expanding Bilateral Investment, Jointly Promoting Global Development.”
The United Kingdom, guest country of honor, will use the fair to enhance bilateral ties.
“We see Chinese businesses succeed in the UK and UK businesses succeed here in China,” said Trevor Lewis, Head of Trade and Investment at the British Consulate-General in Guangzhou.
Such exchanges are especially relevant for professionals in banking, export insurance, FDI advisory, and legal services, offering a firsthand look at China's regulatory outlook and outbound ambitions.
A Hybrid Platform for Global Matchmaking
CIFIT's upgraded online platform will allow for digital exhibitions, real-time negotiations, and cross-border matchmaking — providing global professionals with accessible engagement even without on-site attendance.
